is that although most Reds fans deemed them not good enough; they have played at Championship level, and have had a season in a winning team that can only have boosted their confidence. They will be more than ready to try again.

If Simple Simon goes out and recruits unknown foreigners and has-been loaness to try win the fans over and "try again" then I know which of the two teams in this thread I'd fancy to stay up and do well next season.

Well done Scunny, and welcome to the Championship.

    Simon - take note.

And you'll know at least one of them will score against us.

Togwell was underrated, he was always breaking play up and winning the ball for us, he just couldn't pass or shoot.

The pick of the bunch. In fact, one of my favourite players in recent times.

Hayes is a completley different player now he is back at scnuthrope compared to his first spell and his spell at Oakwell.

Lol...Although I absolutely agree that they are good enough, and I think Togwell probably most, that LDRed comment made me crease with laughter. "Togwell was underrated, he was always breaking play up and winning the ball for us, he just couldn't pass or shoot". Isn't passing fundamental in football, no matter what level?

    Each to his own

McCann and Togwell were decent enough squad players but not good enough first choice for a team "aspiring" to mid table. Both wanted more first team footy and that's why they moved on. I'd have em both in place of Leon but neither would displace Anderson, Colace or even Hassell very often.

Hayes is an enigma, brilliant one minute, invisible for the next 60. Having said that he would have been an asset on the bench but again I doubt he was happy to be a squad player

I never said that passing isn't fundamental in football, I merely pointed it out as one of Togwell's weaknesses.

    exactly my thoughts...

all proved consisteantly not good enough for the level of our own aspirations, if we were happy with 4/5th bottom hayes might do a job , both midfielders would not get into our midfield as it stands now

    Out of those three...

Hayes was the star man. First touch was class. Was involved; always looking for the ball. McCann was the same as ever; **** first touch and sluggish in possesion. Toggers should've been sent off - not good enough for the Championship but a good, bit-par player.

Would have Hayes back straight away.

Woolford = What a fecking bargain!!!!

    RE: Out of those three...

Hayes has a good first touch but doesn't have the work rate to go with it. Lazy as ****.

He slagged our Club off when he went out on loan at Huddersfield whilst he was trying to engineer a move tol Southend.

He is shining at Scunny just as he always did at that level..

He's a League One player a very good one at that level but his time with us in the Championship proved he wasn't Championship material.

So to all those suddenly hailing Hayes, Toggers and McCann..............what you're saying is you would swap them for Anderson, Colace and Bogdanovich??..................I know who I would rather have.

I didn't rate Hayes or McCann

But would definetly have kept togwell. Hayes I would have kept as well because while I thought he was **** he was still miles better than the absolute crap that davey replaced him with

    Togwells main weakness

Was that he couldnt last 90 mins, in many occaisions he was our best player for the first hour then he would just die!!
