The betting for this game opened up with us as marginal favourites. However, presumably adjusted due to the importance of a Posh victory, and with us likely to rest players ahead of the play-offs, the bookies now have the away side as marginal 7/5 favourites. Only a victory will be enough for Peterborough if they want to make it to the post season. Even then, they'll be reliant on Wednesday beating Derby at Hillsborough. On their travels, Peterborough have been the 6th best side this season, with 31 points from 22 games. They have a tendency to win or lose, and are currently on a run of 7 wins and 3 defeats on their travels in 2023. The majority of those games have been at sides who are set to finish in the bottom half of the table. Lincoln are the highest placed team they've beaten away in that time. At Oakwell, since the turn of the century, we've played 10, won 4, drawn 2 and lost 4 to Peterborough. A boxing day victory with goals courtesy of Alex Mowatt, and Cauley Woodrow is the reds most recent home win over Posh. Its a tough one to predict. As I think if we do field a strong side, Peterborough's need to win might just play into our hands. Ever the optimist, I'm going for 2-1 with Norwood and Kane on the scoresheet for us. You reds!
I can’t see us being any where near as ‘up for this’ to be honest. Not that I think the player’s/club will have an agenda or anything. I think Posh will come at us with every thing they’ve got and our players will find it difficult to respond accordingly. I think 2-1 to Posh. Is this a unique occasion where we won’t be too concerned about a reds loss and wouldn’t mind a Fowls win?
Barnsley 1 - 14 Peterborough. Brad Collins with a world record 11 own goals, 6 of them direct from dead ball kicks. Post match interview he will deny he was sulking ........ "I was a bit rusty after 6 months out........ what do you phec.kers expect?" Crowd, 15,575 with 14,575 travelling supporters. Onwards and upwards to the play-offs. You reds, etc ........
Couldn’t care less, irrespective of what the manager and players say beforehand, there will only be one team REALLY trying . Nobody in a red shirt is going to be flying into tackles that could end in injury . 1-4 Peterborough
2-1 Reds lets get some momentum back, if Connell well again get him in(looked okay in training shots), I’d maybe rest Mads if he isn’t fully fit but he’d probably lack wi a broken leg. Full strength please Mr Duff not Duffy
Reds win by 3/4 goals. Keeping our foot down for the playoffs & giving Posh another reason to despise us..
I'm undecided on this one. The strikers will be playing for starts in the playoffs, so still some motivation there. I'll go 2-2 draw.
Shackles should be completely off, as it's a dead rubber for us. Posh will be determined, for sure, but some nerves with it. Home win, 2-0
