Just got back after a weekend away in Scotland. Even after an 8 hour drive still think the place is a picture postcard once you get past Glasgow! going up the A82 towards inverness past Loch Lomand is fantastic scenary not to be found anywhere else. Stayed at a place called Drumnadrochit for a concert, right next to Loch Ness Fantastic place! well worth a trip even though its a long way!
Went there on my honeymoon Fantastic, spent most of the time north of Fort William, the further north, the few people, the wilder the landscape, the more I enjoyed it. Orkney was amazing Around Ulapool on the West coast is beautiful
Going to Kyle in the North west highlands tomorrow. It sounds fantastic up there only problem is I will miss the Newcastle game.
Mum and dad went on honeymoon to Drumnadrochit and are hoping to go back there in 2 years time for their 25th Anniversary.
Saw Dolphins swimming in the Tay Estuary the other day, walked in Tentsmuir forest and along the beautiful white beach to where the seals are, and then drove down the fife coast, had fish and chips at the Anstuther fish bar, just won best chippy in Scotland award. Dundee is picture postcard in my book! Just wish Oakwell was here and not Dens Park or Tannadice!
waash yer mooth oot wi carbolic, ya sasanach! West coast the best... ha ha . A'm fre Fife (Dumfermline), an it beats the west coast anytime. Havin sed that, we went up to Argyll/Fort Willy last year , it is awesome. Still Auntie Betty's hoose near Crieff has better breakfast's.
dundee? picture post card? i must have had my eyes closed for the last 15 years or so!! no, only joking. big improvements over the last decade or so, although anything is better than the old overgate and the angus thistle hotel!!! still not sure about all the new flats going up though. they'll not last 40 years!! and don't knock tannadice! lovely dug out, rarely used during the eighties, so still in good nick !! (that's 'wee jum' for you!)
