I wonder if anybody can help me,for years now the wife and me have fancied a coach tour to Scotland so we have booked with a Scottish company called Highland Heritage. We are being picked up in Barnsley and are staying in the Royal Hotel in a village called Tyndrum its in the West Highlands apparently I wondered if anybody new anything about or even been to Tyndrum,my biggest worry I will miss the Donny game and I would like to see us get our revenge.

If you like mountain scenery and history then Tyndrum won't disappoint. Stayed there once at Auchtertyre Farm (just outside Tyndrum, near to St Fillans Chapel - worth a visit). Also walked through Tyndrum on the West Highland Way.

General Wade's Military Road can still be seen, in fact there is a 6 mile stretch of the Miltary Road (now part of the West Highland Way) which forms an easy walk to Bridge of Orchy, you can catch the train back to Tyndrum.

Tyndrum has 2 railway stations - Tyndrum Upper and Tyndrum Lower, with one being the main line to Oban and the other line going to Fort William. If you have time, take a trip up to Fort William and then catch the train to Mallaig, going through Glenfinnan.

Some magnificent mountains nearby, Ben Lui and Beinn Dhorain being two which spring to mind. Also you are only a few miles away from Rannoch Moor and Glencoe.

Hope the weather is fine and the midges have gone!!
