What's with the anti-Scotland obsession mate? I'd rather they stayed with us - we've more in common with the Scots working man than we do the South of England. The loss of all those Labour MP's from North of the border will ensure we're stuck with the Tories for the next millenium
If they vote for independence I'm seriously considering moving there. The thought of permanent Tory majorities and what they will do to the NHS fills me with dread.
But I actually hope you vote to stay with UK. So I could move there, vote to stay in, and then move back!
Scotlands economy will boom with a housing bubble caused by mass exodus of Englands northerners fleeing the Tory blitzkrieg
Not really ,that would give them another coast to drill oil from. I hadn't realised until today that it was a Scottish king that more or less created the Union in the first place. James VI (?) of Scotland created the Union Flag to join the two kingdoms , he was apparently already King of Scotland when he succeeded to throne of England and Wales. So if anything it should be us voting on Indepenence from Scotland not the other way round.
Gonna be very tight. The Yes are lagging behind in the poles ATM. Of course the non yes votes include a lot of don't know's who still have to be convinced. To me the no argument is very weak and TBH why do the rest of the UK seem determined to keep us? We must have something to offer and they want a piece of it. Otherwise I'm sure they would just say , Off You Pop.
The Tories won't admit it but they want shut of you to virtually guarantee power for them until the average Englander grows up.
There is a decent article on it here http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/alex-m...ttle-more-likely-today-than-it-was-yesterday/
What happens if Scotland are Independent and the Scottish Nationalists are in a minority in the Scottish Parliament?
TBH Dustani I would hope that after Independence and the General Election that will follow the SNP are a minority party. As a confirmed Socialist I would most certainly hope that a Scottish Labour Govt will be formed to run the country. As with most Nationalist Govt I'm sure the SNP will be far too much to the right of politics for me to support. There is a huge misconception here about if we win Independence then the SNP will be in power. A lot of misguided people still think that in this referendum that a vote for Alex Salmond and Yes is a vote for the SNP, which is not the case. The SNP is the ruling party in the Scottish Govt at present and it is them who are driving the case for Independence through parliament.
