Did anyone else see the clear knock-on by Laidlaw when scoring the winning try for Scotland this afternoon? He fumbled the ball forward when trying to pick it up at the back of the scrum, yet no-one noticed it. None of the officials saw it, none of the pundits saw it and there wasn't a TV replay of the try until after the conversion had been taken. It was never mentioned afterwards either. Very strange. If I was a cynical bloke, I'd be saying that the tournament couldn't afford to lose another well supported team!

It looked to me like it didnt move forward, it moved sidewards. Doesn't it have to move forward to class as a knock on?

(Although i had to watch the replay about 10 times to come to that conclusion)

I would have thought it at least deserved being looking at again by the TMO from 15 different angles like most other tries this tournament. I take your point though. It isn't as clear as I initially thought.
