Who believes he should be the ONE nailed on starter? Other than Keith, that is.
Can someone please tell me why he's our first pick at centre half, and captain?
    Thanks.
    .
PS - Is Bobby Hassell past it?

Sick of these Wiseman threads, everyone knows he shouldn't be in that starting team never mind ****ing captain, all except Keith. PS - I don't see Hassell improving our defence much eithe.

    he wasn't too bad today,

though i would have played mcnulty and crainie at the back with hassell just in front

crainie was their best player at times, constantly gave the ball away - need to get him out of midfield and at CB

I sit in other half so i'll not comment on the goal but i thought he was ok today. Foster worried me more to be honest.

He was better than Foster today. Reasonably calm and assured on the ball and adds much needed pace at the back. Struggles in the air however, would play McNulty before him. Drop Stones and play him at RB.

I think any CB in the country would struggle to stay focussed and assured at the side of Wiseman. He's the fail safe cure for constipation. Scares the wotsits out of me everytime the ball goes near him. Stood and admired their goal when any sort of challenge would have prevented it. His pace has got us out of the **** a lot this season, but that is his only quality in my eyes. NOT a CB. A L1 RB? - yes.

We haven't scored again, and created nothing all game. Yet you come on and whinge about Wiseman again. Well here goes, this is why Hill is playing Wiseman

Hill's strategy is to play somebody with pace in the centre of defense. This allows us to play further up field and close down the space in front of the back four by leaving space behind, which Wiseman can cover, because he is quick. The restricted space allows our midfield to get involved, and hopefully win the ball back further up field. Keith Hill also wants the defenders to pass the ball forward rather than launch it. Playing Wiseman or McNulty in the centre of the back four allows us to do this, but McNulty is not fit, and in any event, he is not as quick as Wiseman so at the minute Wiseman is the better option.

The goal came as Church beat Foster in the corner and hit a good cross. After that it was undefendable.

Bobby Hassell has been a great servant to the club, and he is still probably the best reader of the game. However, Hill needs his full backs to provide width when we attack and Booby no longer has either the pace or the endurance to go box to box for 90 minutes as both Wiseman and Stones can, so unfortunately, he is third choice in that position.

Now I have cleared that up for you, can you please concentrate on our woeful lack of goals, with an emphasis on how bad Mido is.

Spot on Red Rain.............what we have on here is 'sheep'.
Someone moans about a player and those without any means of thinking for themselves jump on the bandwagon

Wiseman kept one of the best centre forwards in the division quiet today........only being beaten because Foster allowed Church to look up and drop a cross right on the head of Beckford.

Bobby Hassal hasn't been good enough for the first team for the last 2 or 3 seasons..........he needs to move to another club (no matter how much we like Bobby)

He does cover well, but needs to be aware of opponents when passing back to his keeper by looking and just not hitting it first time. Agree on the whipping boy bit that came about because he seems undroppable.

we could have van persie up front and he wouldnt get 10 all season, no compusure in defense,no creativity in midfield and not a clue from the bench

Thanks Red Rain for "clearing that up". I'll stick to my initial observation and comments about Wiseman though, ta all the same. Im pretty sure this board is still the place for us to express our own personal opinions. Just because a few of us make the same comments about a particular player that doesnt make us sheep. It might mean we have a point though. The forward line is without doubt a huge area of concern, but count the points that we have chucked away in recent weeks at the back. Quite looking forward to seeing how the Mido story will develop though. He looks like he'll give the opposition something to think about to me. He's got a great touch and seems good in the air. Be nice if he could get fit.

Wiseman isn't even good enough to warm the bench

Hassell, Stones, Foster, Cranie, Collins, Edwards, McNulty, Golbourne, O'Brien. All better defenders than Wiseman.
