Steve Evans has just told Andy Giddings that there is no truth in reports linking RUFC with Golbourne.

Not played regularly with Wolves since November due to injuries.

    Possible loan?

    Won't come back here.

He'll end up somewhere bottom half in the championship

He's highly thought of by their supporters, and was a regular starter until injury. Started their first 12 games of the season where they were top of the table through August and September. Due to return shortly.

Quality left back was Golbourne. Badly missed last season.

    Yes he is quality.

So much so that (unlike most loan players) I would be happy for him to come back for a couple of months to get his fitness back with the aim of getting back into the Wolves team.

We'll have to contribute to his wages of which were probably doubled when he left us.......he didn't leave us for league 1 football for nothing no matter what he or anyone else says.

His team are looking for play offs this year and I'm very doubtful he'd drop to a mid table side a league below, especially when other clubs are chasing him

I agree with all of that if we were trying to sign him permanently, but as a loan deal to get back up to speed after a long injury lay off, surely we are a pretty good proposition for him?

We would be a brilliant proposition for him, I agree with that and I also think we missed him.

I just think he'll be looking for a higher standard to play at whether he's been injured or not now he's tasted a winning brand of football

Are folk missing the point here?

He's not available. The lad is set to return from injury and will no doubt go straight back into the Wolves side when fit.

Aye people laughed at him for dropping a league but there is every chance he could get back to back promotions for Wolves as a first team regular in both seasons. Alot expected him to be a fringe player this season, thus underestimating how good he is as the best left back we've had since the days of Barnard and Thompson.

Personally I thought he was average. Not the worst fullback I have seen but can think of loads better than him.

me too, cant remember him ever taking a man on and beating him,i'm amazed he's started so many games at wolves..Having said that our entire defence at that time was diabolical so i suppose its hard for someone to make an impact.

I agree is is unavailable to anyone (especially us) on a permanent deal, but why is it beyond the realms of possibility that he wants some first team football on loan before he gets straight back into the Wolves set up?

They are on a good run at the moment and he may not walk back into the team. He has been out for a while now and will need some time before he is back to his best.

Feel like I'm arguing for the sake of arguing here as almost certainly nothing in it, but it is a possibility.
