I hope not too. If he does leave i can only hope he doesn't go to Wednesday or the other shower of ***** in Sheffield.
I forget which poster it was but who was it that randomly in a Scowen thread the other week claimed his other half wants Josh to stay up here? I thought it was odd at the time like when he's away for games she might get lonely stuck with a kid alone in an area she knows few people, when he would get offers to go back south and be nearer both sets of family and friends. Maybe as a club we are like Sir Alex was at Man United in integrating the players partners into the club so they get to know others well and make new friends. If she likes it up here Josh could easily stay up here for her and make lots more money down the road.
It was me. I was told from a good source that scowen is the only one who would possibly stay because his wife want him to.
Hope you're right. Would seem odd but maybe she's made friends with partners of other players or in whatever neighbourhood they live in so she's settled here. He signs a new contract, mentions how happy he is but fits in that the mrs loves it up here and played a part in his decision and she can get some only one Mrs Scowen chants
I don't see why it is odd that somebody who has lived in an area for a few years now and has given birth in that area and started to raise her child in that area would become attached to the area. Of course they will have become friends with their neighbours and their colleagues
I imagine Scowen is much more likely to sign than Watkins but I still don't think either will. Scowen for his attitude, tenacity and versatility could be a big depending factor on how we are next season.
His family have mentioned or at least alluded to wanting him to stay here and liking the club on twitter a few times.
Seems a strange move to me. Football wise could see him fitting in better at Huddersfield or Leeds if he wanted to stay local but really didn't want to stay at Barnsley, could learn a thing or 2 by the wednesday team sheet last night
If he was going to leave us, it would only be for a better offer than we would be making. I am not sure that I can see which club would make that offer for that style of player. Maybe Blunts, or Bantams, if they come up, but who else would offer a significant hike in wages? If Winnall can't even get on the bench, I think Josh would struggle at another championship club. He'd do best with us, for sure.
I agree with you. Really like Scowen. Decent, honest player. Lots of effort and decent skill levels. But he has a surprising numbers of clangers in him too. Would miss his passion and effort but think he would be less of a "miss" than Watkins. Would love him to stay, but if he chooses to go then good luck to him and Watkins. I can imagine a number of clubs will happily chuck 5 figure weekly wages at both Scowen and Watkins given the lack of a transfer fee. But if they make the wrong choice of team, end up being bench warmers, then personally feel they'll be regretting the move in a couple of seasons.
Can't see it. The one thing I'd say about Scowen is he looks like a player who just loves playing, looks like he'd absolutely hate been on the bench regularly. If as expected he goes I'd expect it to be to an Ipswich, QPR type where he's back down South & will most likely play every week
Nice. Is there any particular reason why he's leaving? Maybe you will replace him with Morsy if Wigan go down?
There's only ooooooooone...Mrs Scowen, Oooooone...Mrs Scowen, He wanted to go, But she made him stay, Thank you Mrs Scowen you're a ledge! Done
