"letting us win" supposedly http://www.iron-bru.co.uk/forums/topic/investigation-needed/ No comment on Sheff U eh?
I mean yes their keeper was total ***** but we won totally on merit. "Oh but they were on the beach" yeah because dem Blades definitely won't have been either. I do feel for them a bit but to suggest there was a conspiracy is ludicrous.
it's understandable. we'd be saying the same no doubt. just frustration at their own missed opportunities. to go on the run they have, and miss out on goal difference, must be pretty galling. when you think about the huddersfield match as well, we've had some pretty decent luck..
No we wouldn't, because we have a few more brain cells to rub together. Do these fcukwits really think another team would 'let' the opposition win, under any circumstances?? Sour grapes, poor losers, however you want to describe it. Why, on earth, would Wigan roll over?? Maybe there's some fierce Wigan-Scnuthorpe hatred that we don't know about. **** 'em.
empathy sir, empathy. we're in the play-offs, they're not. their keeper was atrocious. it has to be said. when you look at his performance and alnwick's howler against peterborough...plus 10 men in the last 3 home games (which didn't actually help us), we've had a few touches to help us along the way.
There is no doubt that we had an easier game at Wigan than we would have had had they not already acheived promotion thats human nature. The same could be said for Scunny at the Blunts though - we played them in a game they had to win Scunny played them when they were on the beach - its just tough That said we had already won away at Walsall, Millwall and Bradford and drew at Burton - pretty impressive away record against the top 5 so us winning at Wigan is hardly a shock result
Yes, but anyone who thinks there's any sort of 'conspiracy', or deliberate throwing of a game to benefit another side, wants their bumps felt. We might have envisaged a scenario where Sheff Utd had lost yesterday and sent us down, no doubt much to the glee of their incestuous fans, but their players??? No, not a chance that they had any such thoughts as they took to the field. Their hunger might have gone a bit - **** season, one game away from their holibobs, but they wouldn't have been thinking 'yeah, if we lose dis, it sends dem Barnsley down!' Not for a minute. These conspiracy-theorists do my head in and make me laugh in equal measure.
What about the Colchester result or Chesterfield result or Southend result? One point from those three games.
In fairness Chris there were already mutterings on here in the run up to the weekend that Dem Blades would roll over. I'm pretty sure that the same thread with different protagonists would have been rumbling along on here.
yeah i think my point is they don't really probably mean it. even on the thread, they accept nowt can come of it. they're just pi$$ed that they came so close. but it is what it is. we could easily say had it not been for colchester's 98th min equaliser, blah blah blah..
