when you say 'smashing it', do you mean he's sat on a chair with a vest and baseball cap on, playing a homemade guitar? to be fair, i do like steve. saw him at glasto in 2010, enjoyed it muchly
Compared to some of the sh*t that's been on... Dizzee Rascal Rizzle Kicks Pro Green Is this really what passes as "music" these days?
you know what i mean! saw him there too. this being self employed cafe owner isn't good for festivals just can't get away! been to 6 glasto`s
Could not agree more..................thunderbird.............proper finale to a terrific set......... And if there isn't a better or more aptly named blues song than 'I started off with nothing & I still got most of it left' then my name is not John Wilkinson!!!!
Was on BBC 4 - thoroughly recommend listening back on iplayer on blues is anywhere near your taste in music
yeah he's always good value is steve. most surreal performance was him on saturday morning kitchen. that's not summat i thought i'd see in 2011
Fabulous set. John Paul Jones on bass, he was great too!! Rest of it I can do without. Foals, Bastille, Vaccines - kids, your bands are *****. Jake Bugg was okay, he reminds me of a young(er) Conor Oburst. Precocious.
Ta, I'll watch it when it comes on. First time I saw him do dog house boogie on jules holland, he blew me away. How's wilko going on by the way?
From his facebook account there is an album of new material to be released soon - time always was a 'hurrying up' factor their (Feelgood) debut on BBC radio necessitated Wilko writing a song throughout the night prior to the radio session - there is also a DVD of one/two of his recent London gigs to be released and more importantly he feels well enough for a couple of festival dates.....oh and yes I was blown away by his (Steve's) appearances on Jools Holland on successive New Years Eves.
