Defensive cover and a desperately needed tall target man up front, a lunge for the play offs could be on. Dafter things have happened.
Sorry my bad, doesn't change the point though. It's up for grabs. Get three quality first teamers in for January and we'd stand as good a chance of a lot of other clubs.
With 29 games to go..... Last season we were 7 points off safety, with only 9 games to go ......... So in the last 26 matches we've attained 37 points........ All the OP @Darfield138 said was dafter things have happened........
Our current squad is no where near play off challengers. A few injuries and we are in trouble because of our usual 9 person bench I don't see many long term Oakwell futures as it's weak as piss.
From what l can recall over the recent years we've been in decent positions around Christmas on three occasions, during Simon Davey's reign, Keith Hill when we were going for 5/6 wins on the bounce and Heckys first season in this division before half the team pissed off.
What happened in that Davey season? I don't really remember us starting so well under Davey! 2011/12 and 2016/17 are both painful to look back on. Started so well, but had our teams ripped apart in January. Really makes you wonder what the point of it all is. The difference this time is that our squad is mostly under contract. The danger could be losing Mowatt and James, but we could survive losing one of them. We might even get a forward or two in to improve the team... Watch us sell Styles, Mowatt and Woodrow now!
I hope the board are taking note. They can also look at Hull last season before entertaining any offers in January.
Yeah our arse fell out after Christmas. At one point there was a daft rumour going round Loftus Road that Davey was being sacked and David O' Leary was taking over.
Sure Dane said recently there was no intention on selling in Jan and inferred they would keep Mowatt & let him go for free than sell in Jan.
