DROP FIGHT BARNSLEY BARNSLEY keeper Nick Colgan has warned that the club face a season-long struggle to survive in the Championship. Colgan and teammates climbed out of the relegation-zone with a 3-2 win over Leeds United but the 33-year-old keeper said: "It is going to be a long, tough season. The chairman and everybody will be delighted if we finish fourth from bottom to make sure we stay in this league. "People need to take a reality check at times, we're not going to be up there pushing for the play-offs or whatever. We are going to be scrapping around the bottom. "It's going to be a long hard season, people have to realise that." Barnsley came back from 2-1 down at half-time with goals from Michael McIndoe and Brian Howard completing the win. The victory ended a run of seven defeats from eight games. Manager Andy Ritchie commented: "Lady luck shone upon us a little bit today. Nick Colgan made a couple of great saves. We had a little bit of bad luck with Daniel Nardiello hitting the outside of the post. If that goes in we're 4-2 up and we can take it a little bit easier in the five minutes of time added on." Ritchie paid tribute to wingers Michael Mcindoe and Martin Devaney. "Macca had a whirlwind start but then had a couple of not bad but indifferent games where he has shown in flashes. Last Wednesday at Derby he was excellent and against Leeds he was excellent. The two wide men worked hard for the team," he said. "They've all got to be prepared to get hurt for the team." Ritchie began the game with strikers Tommy Wright and Marc Richardson. After 56 minutes Richardson was replaced by Nardiello. "Marc Richards was struggling a little bit with his thigh," Ritchie explained. "It was always the intention to get Danny on and give him 30-35 minutes. When you look the shots-on-target stats, he's probably had four or five."
Don't think he did. The next sentance is 'After 56 minutes Richardson was replaced by Nardiello.'</p>
