Being pessimistic I get us to finish on 41 points. Cardiff City (A) Lose. Reading (H) Win. QPR (H) Win. Millwall (A) Draw. West Brom (H) Lose. Swansea (A) Lose. Derby (A) Lose. Huddersfield (H) Win. Bristol City (A) Lose. Preston (H) Lose. Charlton (A) Lose. Sheff Wed (H) Draw. Birmingham (H) Win. Fulham (A) Lose. Middlesbrough (H) Win. Hull City (A) Lose. Reading (A) Lose. Cardiff City (H) Win. QPR (A) Lose. Millwall (H) Win. Blackburn (H) Win. Stoke City (A) Lose. Luton Town (A) Lose. Wigan (H) Win. Leeds (A) Lose. Notts Forest (H) Lose. Brentford (A) Lose. Hoping for some push backs.
Be very lucky to finish out of bottom 3. Unless we go on a unbeaten miracle run from say Middlesbrough to leeds which are all winable games. But results so far this season makes that abit make believe.....
9 wins is very optimistic considering we’ve only had 2 so far! I’m expecting more draws than wins to be honest. Be amazed if we topped 35 points.
Had we lost on Saturday, I'd have written us off for this season. Now I'm not so sure. I think we'll do better in the games ahead than we have in our games thus far, but whether it will be enough... who knows? Ironing out the defensive mistakes will be key. That and the small matter of the January window, of course.
The only solace I take is you wouldn't fire a head coach who everyone likes, put him on gardening leave and employ a new coach who has coached in the Europa League on a decent contract if you were planning for relegation. They must have something better planned for January than selling Mowatt and Woodrow. They don't necessarily have to be experienced journeymen. The policy that previously brought in Sam Winnall, Marley Watkins, Connor Hourihane and Josh Scowen would suffice. Having said that wholesale change isn't the answer either. You could sign another seven players for £7million in total and they wouldn't necessarily make a team. I remember the excitement of Danny Wilson coming back and bringing in Mcloughlin, Lawrence, Woods, Brek Shea, Hunt, Frimpong and Proschwitz and them all turning out to be *****.
Frimpong, what a waste, made Mellis his b!tch and ruined both their careers. Personally I think we’re fecked, we’ll be down by Christmas and in a world of pain from next season after the annual fire sale. And I’m usually Mr Bright Side.
Based on our season to date your predictions are about as far from pessimistic as they could be while remaining credible. I don't think 41 points will be too far away if I'm honest; whether it's enough or not I really don't know.
I think 41 points might be a bit optimistic - hope I am wrong mind but I need to see a few more games under our new coach before I can decide if Saturdays performance was just a delayed new manager bounce or a sign we have really turned the corner. We also need to start performing against poor sides almost all our points have come against sides in the top half . Wigan away the only lower side who hasnt beaten us when we played them I currently have no clue what will happen but if I were to guess I would say we might struggle to get much over 30 points though I think I will have a better idea at the end of January
