Any memories anyone? Personally; i can remember us taking 6,000 over there when we were mid to lower table in the old Third Division. The following season, i think if we'd have won then we would have been promoted. The morning of the game, in late April, we awoke to deep snow everywhere. It was so bad that they'd shut the M62 and the only route available was along the Woodhead bypass........ Strangely enough, when we got to Blackpool the weather was very hot, and there were quite a few Barnsley supporters that ditched their heavy coats etc. We lost the game 1-0 and still had around 4,500 in attendance. A few days later we beat Rotherham in front of approximately 26,000 at Oakwell with a convincing display. For some reason i can recall the PA being left on at some stage and the bloke who did the announcing was discussing a bird with a mate of his. The ground fell somewhat quiet for a brief while as they chatted about this certain girls 'merits'. Then someone entered the room, the intercom was switched off, and a rousing cheer went up around the ground.

Two weird things about that Blackpool game 1 We played in Blue. I'd never seen us play in blue before. 2 Ronnie Glavin was played up front as a striker. It didn't work.
My first ever game was against Blackpool well, from what I can remember. I think Roger Wydle scored two and Bamber got theirs in a 2-1 reds win! I was pushed under the turnstile so I didnt have to pay full kids price! Wish we could still have terraces.
