Seeking information

    Is anyone on this board old enough to remember the late George Davies or davis,used to live I believe up Stocks Lane,and played with the Moonshiners in the Corner Pin,was killed in the early sixties or around that time in a car crash on his way back from Hull to Barnsley, thanks.

    I went to school with his son Lee, They lived down the street behind the Marlborough Pub on Dodworth Road.
    Lee was injured in the crash, lost sight in one eye.
    His dad was in a band called Me and Them also.

    Didnt think he had any children,was in the army with him and a mutual friend of us both wondered if he was buried in Barnsley and if so where.

    Played a couple of times with the 'Moonshiners' skiffle group at the Wine Shades. where Tommy Fisher used to serve beer with a hose pipe.

    I vaguely remember George but they changed their name after that. I used to play the piano between sessions.
