But would it work at Oakwell and have we got the guts? Good read though. https://www.joe.co.uk/sport/blackpool-fc-239678
Been saying for a while that we could end up another Blackpool. Sincerely hope not. Guess the month of January will tell us a lot but the Kane news has not been a good start.
Was sad to see with blackpool i remeber going in the f.a cup when we took over 3k and Blackpool only had about 500 home fans atmosphere was terrible glad they got there club back. Looking like worrying times ahead and from what i hear cauley wont be the only one off in January.
Only trouble is, it was t the boycotting that got the club back it was the other guy taking him to court and winning.
That’s very true. Without Belekon (the like of which we don’t have) the boycott might still be going now. Oyston also had the Prem money to keep funding the club throughout, not sure our lot would put up any money so I imagine admin would follow pretty quickly.
I have. Just watch on telly now or listen on radio. Am not throwing my money into the black hole that is the 80% mob's pockets. Pointless.
Incredible solidarity shown by the fans there. With Barnsley's mining history of strikes and pickets etc, surely we could match that?
I have the greatest of respect for Blackpool fans and what they did and would hope that, if it comes to it, we could do the same. I am not sure we are quite there yet, although I would support such a protest whenever it comes. But give it 12 months, if we are in the bottom 4 of League One with no signs of any engagement or improvement and I reckon we just could be in a position where such an organised protest becomes viable. Incidentally, reading the personal stories of the fans involved, that to me is what football is about, not the morons who taint our name wherever we go.
Rock and a hard place. I don't feel inclined to go, even with a ST. But as others have stated, Admin would surely follow, as these charlatans won't pump money in and would love to play the blame card. And the only people we hurt are the staff. But something has got to give
How would a boycott help? It’s two completely separate issues, the court case was over him abusing his position, the court would have dealt purely in facts not emotion.
I agree it wouldn't influence the court case but knowing the fans were behind the case may have helped PR wise?
I think Walton would be a decent back up, not as good but still able. I think the loss of Helik and Styles would be worse.
