Kay then Hayes then a few un named players and reports he is a bit of a sod to deal with. Is it good and likely to produce a winning team or is it bound to end in tears :'( :'(

It appears that he's been in conflict with quite a few players(allegedly) and could suggest one of a few problems which are not being picked up by the board. I think the chairman has to establish if this guy is too far an authoritarian or whether he is trying to bring about much needed change. Whatever the outcome there seems to be a potential serious problem , particularly in the way he is handling matters and if the underlying problem stems with Daveys personality, then and only then, do we have a massive problem.

Depends. It could be that these are players that don't like a more disciplined regime, alcohol ban etc. If thats the case then they can ship out.

When management have a dictatorial approach its usually a mechanism to hide their own inadequacies and lack of confidence or ability.....and its usually accompanied by a powerpoint presentation

Fergie and Morino can fall out with anybody

They do it all the time but when they have a fall out with a mega million player and they 'bugger off' as they do, remember Beckham and the boot. They go out and buy two mega million players to fall out with when needed. But they have both respect in the dressing room and notice how the players on both Man Utd and Chelsea. Hug the managers when they score. When did you see that at Oakwell ?????

Would it have been better if he'd french kissed them?

Don't care what the relationship is with the players as long as they do better than they did this season

Can't imagine clough had a great rapport with his players - just ask david currie - but at the end of the day he got results

    Discipline....

Every club needs their players to be well disciplined, and they have to respect the manager's opinions. Otherwise you've got a mutiny on your hands - player power isn' any good for any club, so any gobby **** should be shown the door, regardless of who the boss is.
