"A postbox that was painted gold in heptathlete Jessica Ennis's home city of Sheffield, to celebrate her Olympic triumph, has been vandalised. The graffiti was scrawled on the postbox in Barkers Pool in the city centre. A new layer of gold has been applied by a Royal Mail employee"

Some people have no respect for anything at all. What reason would anybody have to scrawl graffiti on anything nevermind a special postbox painted to celebrate achievement and success. They're just mindless idiots.

Just a town full of scrubbers......

All the other 'Gold' post boxes across the country are being treated with respect, but not in pigland.

Just shows the mentality of its inhabitants.....

That was a student attending Sheffield Hallam uni, not sure if he was actually from Sheffield.

Are you a lawyer or something? I'm just going on the fact that the post-box was in the middle of Sheffield city centre and couldn't imagine anyone from outside of Sheffield taking the trouble to venture that far just to paint a bit of graffiti. If it was in the middle of Barnsley you would have assumed it was a a kid from Barnsley wouldn't you? Was there any actual proof that the chav who chanted at Billy Sharp was actually from Barnsley? Nope but odds are that he was.
Mind you, I did get one thing wrong - the graffiti dauber was in fact happy with Jessica Ennis's success. Chap at work passed it and the graffiti said "Go Jess".

Was just going to post that actually. It apparently said "Go Jess".
