Cant say im surprised. Some mad acquisitions pre season, an ability to cold shoulder players who aren't the flavour of the month, an inability to entertain (whatever some people might say-we have played poorly most of the season) some lucky results and now we hit a bad run he seems to be losing it altogether with some daft tactical errors. Spackman anyone? Never been a fan of Daveys and i make no apologies for that and nothing has changed. Davey needs to be very careful for these next 2 weeks for the good of the club. A cup victory and a win against bottom side Colchester plus a few good buys and we might just be able to pull it together and survive but a couple of dodgy results and some poor signings and i think we wil be only going one way. As for sacking him? Well i didnt want him here in the first place and really its a dilemma. If he stays till the end of January and we lose a couple and he brings in more players that dont improve the squad we are then either stuck with him or will have to bring in a new manager who will more or less have his hands tied as he wont be able to bring in his own players so we will seemingly be repeating a process we have been through before.
Some good points made there. I think the main reason for where we are now is the lack of foresight in building a team based on loan players. Loan players are important to a club with limited finamces like Barnsley. However, Macken, Werling, Da Silva, Nyatanga were the bedrock of the team from back to front. The spine's been taken away and basically you are left with.........obviously.........something that is 'spineless'. That Reid, Johnson and Kozluk can't get into a struggling team does suggest some bad man management by SD. Next 2 weeks as big as any 2 weeks since - well........... this time last season. I won't give up on Davey at this stage but he really needs to come out fighting. His post match comments v QPR just sounded like one excuse after another.
said the same thing yesterday Disco just can't see the sense in building a team round loanees who are all in key positions who could (and did) get recalled by their clubs all at the same time. Also cannot see what bringing in a left back short term can do other than alienate the manager further from some current permanent members of the squad
This is ludicrous.... ... I didn't want SD... BUT the same people who were calling him the new Wenger are now calling for his head.(that's not directed at you Mc Carthy BTW) I don't see the advantage in perpetuating the 'revolving door' policy that has been at the Well. He is our manager and has to be given an extended period of time to prove his abilities.
Football fans eh, I mean at the end of last season Wolves fans were treating Mick Mc as if he was the messiah. Things don't go too well and there's mummerings of real discontent.
If we get rid of SD who's going to come to the well ?

RE: said the same thing yesterday Disco I don't see what the alternative is, I'm not sure we can afford to sign the loan players as permanent and fund their wages.
I'm not an SD fan, but... It would be a very bad move to sack him, we need some stability at this football club for once, and despite our bad run of recent we've still made progress!
Think you are right about the loaners never been keen on the system of loaners though. They should be used as temporary gaps or with a definite view of bringing them in. I think he went quantity over quality with too many players without experience of this league and that has cost us. Loaners from a level above can generally adapt due to their class that makes them Premier league players but its no good if they are going to keep going back to their parent club. There does seem to be a lack of a plan B as Davey seems intent on waiting for these players to come back but how long can we wait? I hope they do come back for the sake of the club but why arent we on the look out for players who have proven ability at this level as well? Instead he seems ihe just likes raiding every country in the globe. Another problem is the daft idea we can only buy players at certain times of the year. Never understood this rule and it could actually end up sending us down. Firstly because Davey rushed in too many transfers in July/August and now because we may run out of time in January. Lets keep our fingers crossed these next two weeks go well
I can understand the anxiety but... ... why in the modern world do we feel that the sack is the only answer ? Maybe it's part of the 'blame culture'
It is easy to criticise when we lose but its even easier when we lose on a regular basis. The only game we have won in two months is the cup game which i couldnt attend. As i said before if we win and i go to the game i will comment but it hasnt happened for that long i cant comment highly. What do you want me to do? Comment on a pretend victory? In any case i wasnt commenting on the game itself just how people seem to be changing their perspective of the manager. The last time i commented favourably on a game was the Watford match. That was the last time i saw us win!
I agree with you in that at the moment, its difficult to comment on a good result because we're not having any. I just think to even suggest that sacking our manager would be a good idea when we're 16th in the Championship is absolutely ludicrous. If someone said to me you'll be 16th in the season at this stage, after the Coventry game on the opening day, I'd have snapped their hand off. This next 2 weeks is crucial in terms of signings, but there is no way we should even be considering/discussing sacking another manager.
as a matter of rarity I too do not think he should be sacked inspite of not wanting him in the first place. The real issue here, in my opinion, lies soley in his alleged attitude to certain players. He is known for his ability to talk the talk but, it is becoming a reality that his talk cannot be supported by action and results. It needs someone,at some level, to supervise this guy. A person with managerial experience and who is able to guide him through the difficulties of man management. Just my opinion
I've said it all along !!! The only way Davey will succeed is to have an experienced Manager to guide him for at least a season. There are at least ten who would be capable of doing it. The alternative is already on the cards in that his inexperience is showing and eventually could cost him his job. He needs to learn tactics, team selection, Man management and most of all the ability to buy the right players. Then one day he will be successful.
It is impossible to guide someone who thinks he knows it all and doesn't need any help. If he wont allow his players to comment on his percieved tactics or game plans, then what makes you think he will listen to an "Assistant".
Relegation=Stability then? Does it ****. I am sure though that given a couple of extra signings we will be fine. Let's hope we can beat Colchester on Tuesday too...
