http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-31152793 Although I'm no fan of Liverpool in the slightest, I detest them, I've always admired the lack of segregation in the derby match. Sad to see the do-gooders are taking over.
You see a lot of fans mixed up together . Let's be honest Liverpool and Everton hate Man Utd more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So more policing needed, more overtime paid, less cover in the rest of the Merseyside area and Everton and the fans to foot the bill, sarnds abart reight. Watch out rugby.
Totally ridiculous. I've got loads of mates from Liverpool, blues & reds & they get on very well. When fans have a record of behaving themselves they should be treated like people, like they are at rugby. The police cause more problems than they solve sadly in most instances. Liverpool hate Man Utd more than anyone. When we were in the Premiership I was in the Kop when we won & they were sound too. Same with Everton, but we got beat! Always found Liverpool a friendly place to be honest. Spent a lot of time there.
I read about this earlier, I think the BBC has dressed this up a bit - there's always been segregation and it's not like hundreds of away fans have historically sat in the home end.
The saddest thing about football is that segregation is often needed in the first place. Grown up people fighting each other because of a ball game? That's just about the most pathetic thing that I can think of.
I'm against both sets of fans sitting together in any football game. They support a different team to yourself so you should want to dislike them at least during the match.
