So if we'd have gone 4-2-4 last night & still lost 3-1 would that have been ok? I don't know what's worse, those that jump up & down like Davey's the saviour when we win or those who stamp their feet & call him a lovely person when we lose.
4 out of next 5 at home - in our hands totally. Because I cannot fathom out why under Davey we set out away from home with the formations and attitude that we seem to employ - ie sit deep and be defensive. When we get the ball down and go at teams (home or away) then we are for the most part one of the better teams in this division imho - why Davey has to be so negative on occasions, especially when it doesn't work is beyond me.
Getting worrying especially with Southampton doing so well now and Norwich
I fear for Blackpool?

As we found in the Prem year winning a few after such a long spell in the bottom 3 gets you to within touching distance of safety but then you don't have to drop off much to slip back.
Leaving us aside, Blackpool seem in bother, Norwich only won last night for the 2nd time in14, and So'ton need to maintain their form to pull clear.
We are not reliant on other teams - it is entirely up to us. The annoying/concerning thing for me is that this is the 3rd year in a row that we are in this situation.

RE: Getting worrying especially with Southampton doing so well I can't see Southampton getting another result on Saturday at Birmingham. Surely not. Blackpool v Norwich is a tricky one. A draw would maybe be best, to keep as many teams in the mix as possible.
Smallest attendance on Saturday? ours. Despite giving tickets away. Our turnover is on a par with the top 6 League 1 sides. We're doing well to survive in the Championship. FACT. Stronger together?
Easy now. Despite that Simon's brought in
Darren Moore
El Hamour willo the wisp
Hume
Colace
Bogdanovic
Hamil
Mifsud
Him from Fulham
yet again nearly a full team brought in. Our crowds seem to have no bearing on the ability to add to the squad.

With teams below us winning.... That means that teams above are losing. We're nott too far off catching Cov, Derby, Palace and Donny imo.
So a mixture of loan players and foreigners no one has heard of and Darren Moore, who almost signed for Bradford. we're cutting our cloth and doing well to survive. FACT.
Aye, cos he's kept us in the Premiership 2 for 2 seasons running and took us to Wembley, I'd say he's earnt it, not to mention having his top scorer and captain sold and not replaced and our million pound striker put out for the season, all Daveys fault cos he's relying on unknowns from Croatia/Malta to scores goals....whoops.
******** SM I really can't take anymore of this nonsense its driving me mad.
There is no way we should be in the state that we are in at the moment. There is no way we should behind the likes of Sheff Weds, Plymouth, Donny, Forest, Derby and its got **** all to do with attendences history or anything but plainly down to the players we have against theirs.
Davey has to start taking accountability for our performances, not the missing fans.
His tactics are atrocious at the minute. If we get relegated this season imho it will be down to one man and one man alone. He's been backed heavily and due to the small attendence we are getting I would put that down to PC and his own money. If we are being bankrolled by a sugar daddy then your argument about attendences falls on deaf ears I'm afraid.
For what its worth we need to stick by Davey to the end of the season cos its now way too late to do anything that would enhance our chances but to me finishing 1 above the drop this year isn't a success.

That's got nothing to do with how he sets his teams up. On paper our back 4, midfield 4 are amongst the strongest in this league. Davey's struggled to find 2 decent strikers up to press.
Added to that is his bizarre diamond-ish formation, his oft used tactics of not bothering in away games and of dropping deep when we have a lead.
We are operating in a stronger 2nd tier than it was in the 80's/90's but we have a stronger team too.

Why don't we wrap the fecker up then? Save us all the aggro and the heartache. Do we do enough to "sweat the assets"? I'd suggest not. Until we get relegated (which I think we will just avoid) then we have the right, regardless of attendances or turnover etc to play these teams as it is 11 versus 11. Yes, some teams have much more resources than us and others, not many have the same or less. But as the table posted on here showed the other day a massive wage bill guarantees blooming all, look at Charlton. I know you will say "the game has changed" but in 1996/97 we had smaller attendances but we had a manager and a coach who knew the game and knew how to get the best from their players. We were told by Mark McGhee that we did not deserve to go up because Wolves were bigger than us. We went up as we deserved to. We will stay up if we deserve to.
Truth hurts compare our squad to the rest of the Championship and its on a par with the bottom 6 sides, dont for one minute think Davey wouldnt like to be shopping at Harrods and not Netto, but we are where we are. We're a small club with a small following, but seemingly with big ideas. I remember watching Craig Ireland and Peter Handyside in front of Sasa Illic not so long ago, with Boulding and Stallard up front. People seem to have removed that from their memory. Davey has kept us in the Championship by picking unknowns from the wilderness and moulding a team capable of getting enough points and wins and a splattering of attractive football. And local derby win. When I heard Scott Minto say last night "All credit to Barnsley for getting the ball down and trying to play" was I the only one thinking at least Davey tries to play football? Nah, his tactics are wrong. In my opinion we have a good, ambitous and improving manager that is working hard to push us up the table. If we stay up this season, it'll be another achievement and should be recognised for that.
I'm afraid to say that good luck to you if that is your belief Anybody who thinks that we are over acheiving seriously want their head read.
I'd say that Davey is on borrowed time in more ways than one.
I also can remember watching Handyside and Ireland. On the flip side of that I can also remember watching De Zeeuw, Hignett, Ashley Ward, Dave Watson, Neil Redfearn, Darren Barnard etc not long before it. Some of those players came to the club when we were getting 7k every week, 6k of which were standing paying peanuts to watch.
Davey has not improved us on the playing side. His tactical ineptitude is not moving the club forwards in the way that it should and if it wasn't for his BIG wins at BIG times he would have been sacked months ago.
His 1 win in every 4 matches isn't taking us forward.

I did,nt know Davey had a 'Clone' The man you describe is not the same man I see week in week out. The Football we see is only good in short bursts, the rest of the time it is appalling.
