Now adamant that the 2022 World Cup should be played in winter as the country will be too hot for fans in the summer and the World Cup must be (his words) "a festival of the people." So why award the hosting to a country where gays, lesbians, and women are not treated as people, and where simple freedoms such as the right to alcohol cannot be enjoyed? Absolutely stinks, yet FIFA is that rotten that those at top don't look like being ousted any time soon.
Sepp Blatter is like our own FA. Totally inept while the whole set up is run by old farts how can we improve. FIFA would arrange a match to go forward in the middle of a war torn zone and insist on it being played. Blatter is well known to have quite a number of countries delegates in his pocket. Watched a panorama programme on him about 10 years ago, on how they bribe the lower countries with favours. This is a typical example
Qatar is so unsuitable as a World Cup host, yet such a rich country that it's extremely tempting to assume theres been some underhand dealing, particularly given the corruption that has been exposed in FIFA.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing when I heard him on the radio this morning. He said something along the lines of 'as soon as I realised how hot it was in Qatar in the summer I was determined that the competition must be moved to winter'. This is from the president of the world governing body of football. He wasn't aware until after they awarded the world cup to them that Qatar was blisteringly hot in summer. Speechless, utterly speechless and surely a point of resignation for him and every other panel member who didn’t realise this. Corrupt to the very core.
TBH what will it matter to Blatter? He will be well out of the scene (take your pick from dead, retired or busted) by then anyway...

I said at the time they awarded Qatar the World Cup, that it was a bent decision. Blatter is interested in one thing : HIMSELF I would like to know how FIFA are monitored and audited, because or me, it is a joke of an association. Qatar? **** me........zero football pedigree, zero football potential, **** football climate, **** place to get to (for most football leading nations), just ****. So why would FIFA appoint this venue if it wasn't for money ? BENT.
