We were promised that the price of next season's ticket would be held at the same price as this year's. Fair enough.
I assume that this price promise will be held until the start of the next season so we can decide whether or not to renew. I do hope that "the board" will not be putting pressure on us to do it by the end of April, or such like.
A guarantee to the fans has to be maintained or it may as well have not been made at all. After the January debacle I want time to decide if I renew depending on the close season activity. Surely there's nothing wrong with that ?

The way i saw it was that if you bought the early bird ticket you got next seasons early bird ticket at the same price. I have to say though that is just the way i assume it to be and not 100% knowledge

Because blind commitment is always the best way to go to bring about change.

Perhaps it might be reasonable to conclude, even after today, that given we are halfway up the Championship, this has been a good season.

Given that I support a team with the resources of Barnsley - a team that recently went to Villa and beat them, along with quite a few others over the campaign - a team that up until a couple of weeks ago was the second best away team in this league - I feel as though I'm happy with things on the whole.

Yet if supporters like you want to decide whether you renew next season based upon what you think about our summer signings, then good luck. i will be there next season watching football in this league.

    Perhaps you prefer Meadowhall.

Why is Meadowhall an option just because he's disappointed with events since January? It doesn't make anyone a worse fan to be gutted because they believe we could have done so much better than we are. Yes it's been a good season but since January it has started to come apart and a lot of fans are frustrated because what has been a good season could have been so much better.

Yeah but he's saying that his continuing support is dependent upon who we sign in the summer.

We'd have no club at all to support if we all had that attitude.

You mentioned "worse fan". We'd all like the club to be the best it can be. If we don't end up doing the best, in my own opinion, should i stop going?

I live in Birmingham and it costs me 30 quid in petrol every trip to Oakwell.

You weren't to know that and the majority obviously don't travel that far to get to home games but I'm seriously considering not renewing unless a. The price is right but more importantly b. We invest in the team this summer. I see no issue with others having similar concerns before spending a lot of money and for me that doesn't make them any less committed.

It has been a good season overall, but we can't ignore what's happened since January.

You make a fair point in terms of your distance away.

There are levels of commitment. If you bothered to travel up while we were in League 1, then I hope you agree that the entertainment and quality has improved this season.

I just wish people would stick to commenting on what they see on the pitch, rather than bringing their threats not to turn up to the table.

I'm guessing but i reckon the vast majority of fans who are season ticket holders this season will renew and be season ticket holders again next season regardless of how frustrated they feel right now.

Football is a business now so do clubs still have the right to expect unwavering, unquestionable support from their fanbase? Of course they get it, that is just the nature of fans, but the damaging events of January are going to cause a lot of frustration and push some fans to question whether the ambition of the club matches the ambition of its fans and more importantly it's brilliant young manager.

The "ambition" of our fans ought to be to perform creditably in this league.
    Tick.

Performing credibly in the championship is all most fans want but that doesn't stop many from being disappointed when incredible achievement is within touching distance but performances off the pitch undo all the hard work put in on the pitch.

I think people do need to lower their expectations a little our natural position isn't the top 6 of the championship it's a between the championship and league 1 imo. The gap between us and 80% of this league financially is massive. Yes we can be unhappy with January but these players wanted to go winnall was even pushing the move before the window opened. We have had a massive rise up the football league and after the Jan window it feels like 3 steps forward and 2 back the summer window is vital and I hope the club appoint a ceo before the renewals start.

I was coming up from Nottingham last season. There's been some great highs this season. I'm basing my views on what I've seen on the pitch this season (including today), and what's happened off it.

I asked in the club shop on Wednesday about next season as I want to move seat and they said no decision had been made yet about season ticket pricing and when you can renew.

Oh bloody hell, the club surely aren't going to say that they never said that prices would be held for next season and that we must have misunderstood.
Perhaps what they said was doublespeak for "All prices will increase by 50% regardless."
