From the commentary and especially the match summarise (Adam Brammer) we have got a very negative response to the game (as seen through the eyes of the Oakwell AM staff). Now Adam was very negative as ever, and did not find many (if any) positives that we could have taken away from the game which would have given the Barnsley Support listening some positives. Surely it would be better if we had a summariser who whilst giving a balanced view of the game could give us some positives to give us hope. I spoke to someone at the game after it finished, and she was more positive about the performance, saw some good things, reckoned that Muller and Werling played well, Howard ran his socks off, the defence looked far better second half and played more as a unit and geve me an altogether better feeling of the performance than the eyes and words of Mr Negative. Come on Oakwell AM, constructive critisism is great and is needed, but please try to give us some positives, it may just stop us all feeling suicidal and depressed on a saturday night. Surely a comment along the lines of Barnsley were outplayed by a better side, who will be in the shake for promotion would be better, Davey tried to change the formation to counter the WBA tactics, but it did not work, rather than panic change of tactics etc..
Agreed it may well have been *****, but I spoke to Tina who was fairly positive about the performance. Be interested to see the response of others
What I am saying I suppose is that we are seeing the game from one summarisers view + commentatorssss, and the summariser is ALWAYS without fail negative towards the team (or comes across as such)
If he thinks the game was rubbish he can say that. He's entitled to his opinion and just because some might not agree, does not make it any less worthwhile as others. I actually prefer the honesty of the commentators over the "walk the company line" policy Radio Sheffield had. Brammer couldn't understand why we played one up front when losing 2-0. What's wrong with that (dunno) (dunno) (dunno)
Simple really all those who listened to the game feel that we were crap because Brammer and co said we were. They may have been right but they influence the way we feel. Those who went to the game are probably a better judge and should influence our thoughts more. My complaint with Brammer is that he is always negative and rarely (if ever) says anything positive By the way Dreamboy, have you had your meeting with the club or Oakwell AM yet??????
Its almost impossible to judge As either you go to the game or listen to the commentary But the neutral BBC1 summariser said first half we were so negative we were lucky to get nil Second half was more even but WBA still looked the more likely to score That ties in with the impression I got from the commentators. Hard to put a positive spin on when you are losing 2-0 taking off a striker (injured ) and putting a midfielder on and going 4-5-1 when you have still 2 strikers on the bench Also Adam thought our best moves came via Werling so was disappointed when he was taken off We did have a couple of chances but no amount of commentary spin would show us other than a well beaten by a better side on the day. And as he was at Newcastle he can reasonably compare the performances.
"all those who listened to the game feel that we were crap because Brammer and co said we were" Maybe we feel they were crap because actually they were crap on the whole. "Those who went to the game are probably a better judge" Brammer and the commentary team were at the game so don't quite understand that. I thought todays commentary was pretty much a fair reflection of what they were seeing. And having read a few reports, I still have that thought. I am sure there are fans who attended today who are positive, but there will also be fans who have come out feeling negative, so depending on the fan you speak to you will get a bias either way.
the main negative would have to be that we let them keep possession, whilst when we got it we were mostly pressured. but the positive is we performed much better after half time, even though not too much happened, and we had some good spells which would have got our crowd going if we were at home. commentators are w*nk.
hey, matt....
It is a move forward for us to have youse blokes doing the away commentary. This is Barnsley for fecks sake and you lot are US
(it doesn't matter that you are ****)

Honesty vs papering over the cracks Honesty every time for me mate. I didn't go, but after to listening to friends that went and reading and listening to various reports, they all added up to us being crap. Also, very worryingly, Davey seems at best, inept with his tactics so far.
