I go out on my mountain bike about 5 times a week on a keep fit and excercise my knackered knee, I go on the same route and listen to the same tracks on mt nmp3, i do this so i can judge my progress so i know where i should be at a certain point in a certain record; My question that like Pavlovs Dogs (who were programmed after a while when the feeding bell rang they started to salivate) when i hear those tracks when i'm not excercising will my metabalism automatically increase ?????? (chinny) (dunno) (dunno) (dunno)

You may have a slight increase in metabolic activity caused by an emotional response to the music

It wouldn't cause a significant increase in metabolism tho.

    That's a fantastic question.

Absolutely no idea but, if you made me guess, I'd go along with Harrow Tyke.

Have you got room for a punchbag? I'm on my second torn cartilage and wouldn't be without mine. 3/1/3/1/3 like you're fighting for your life and you feel like your heart's going to burst. You could then just walk to keep your knee free and do some hand-weights if you feel like it.

I can't remeber where I read it but I recall an article which said if you visualise for example a pedalling stroke on the bike while you are resting that your muscles in some way "remember"-bizarre I know but who knows?
