How many of you would be happy with a 7th place finish at the end of the season? After last nights display we can make the play offs in my opinion. Teams are frightened of us because they are under pressure to beat us from their own fans.

 

Won't happen.

Too many impressive loanees in vital positions. If SD has the chance to expand the permanent squad he will need time to get them up to speed, so no, I think a top 6 spot is unlikely. Though I'd take it.

 

Davey is extremely switched on and has shown us that he can make tough decisions with regard the players. Dont underestimate him or the team.

While we are starting to play well at home and we are in a great position, i am concerned come january that the present team will be broken up. if that is so then i think we will have enough points to bring in the fringe players and Davey will experiment with his squad to play out the rest of the season.

I hope i am wrong though, i hope we can keep the loan players and add one or two more in Jan, and really go for the big push.

De Silva I reckon we will get to keep till the end of the season ...likewise Macken..... thats then only Nyatanga who looks like going in January. so IMHO we only have one to cover, surely we can sort that out in january. That said ..it means very little disruption to the team.Honestly mate I think we now have no ned tolook over our shoulders and down the table...we are going places.Maybe not promotion this time ...but we certainly have as much cahance of the playoffs as the 4 who occupy those slots no...an last night we showed that. I was so glad I made the journey to see that performance, any Reds fan had 110% value for money last night.

 

RE: I'd be happy with top half

as I explained to JLWBL last night, I look on this league as 3 sections top 8 the contenders... middle 8 the builders or established... bottom 8 the strugglers and hopeful. Last season we were the bottom 8. This season a middle 8 finish would be very satisfying and a good step forwards , progress wise... HOWEVER. Signs are now showing that we may have yet again surpassed our hopes and maybe ..just maybe have found a blend capable of greater things. Right now I am confident of not looking down the table.I think the team has shown enough now to give us hope of looking only upwards...we have as much right NOW to look at the PlayOffs as the likes of Bristol, Ipswich, Wolves, to name but a few. I know its easy to be sceptical and wary...... and god knows I can do all that. But honestly I now go to Oakwell with no fear... and it has to be said , its a long time since most of us had that feeling.

Unless we pick up away points on a regular basis we will be mid table. Be completely happy wi that messen. Too soon for owt else

Seventh heaven!

How good were we on Tuesday; I was so proud of them! If we end up mid table we will have done really well, if we end up in the play offs I will be over the moon....Simon's red and white army...never thought I'd sing that!

 

We CAN make the play-offs. We CAN go up.

We need to dare to beieve it. </p>

We're only 3 points off the play-offs and 5 points off automatic and we haven't peaked yet. We have players who are yet to come into form and some quality, such as Bobby Hassell, to return. We have self-belief and determination. If we don't go for it now when will we?</p>

i think seventh would be a good spot to end up. off course i wish for play-off. with 7th place it is much better than last season. with the progress we´ve had this season, so in a couple we could get a promotion to premier league. i hope
