Wonder if we had sell on clause Derby have rejected another bid for highly-rated defender Jason Shackell, insisting the player is worth much more than the current offers reflect. Shackell has impressed since his move to Pride Park from Barnsley last summer, even captaining the team in the absence of injured Shaun Barker. Burnley are among the sides rumoured to be chasing his signature, but Derby chief executive Tom Glick has confirmed there is no deal on the table. "We've knocked back another bid for Jason Shackell," Glick said. Serious "We felt it was nowhere near where it would need to be for us to give it serious consideration." Derby will be looking to improve on last term's mid-table Championship finish and Glick says the offers will have to be much improved if the Rams are to let Shackell leave. "We're not surprised about this [bid] as he had a great season for us and is a key player for us, in a key position. "If a club was to come back with an increased valuation, we would take a look at it on its merit. "Then, if we felt it did meet our valuation of the player, we would only sell if we had a suitable replacement lined up."
We have got a sell on clause According to Matt Murray on Twitter at any rate. He said there was no promotion clause for Vaz Te but we do have a sell on clause with Shackell.
Re: We have got a sell on clause Reminds me of Earnshaw and Chopra, excellent excellent players but somehow not quite good enough to step up to the Premiership and so end up being one of the best players at decent Champioship teams, without really getting anywhere. Considering his tendency to re-locate every two minutes, a sell-on clause is a must!
Re: We have got a sell on clause Sounds like the kind of negotiation we should be doing instead of snapping up any offers!! Congrats on your 6,000 post LR!
