Hull City have accepted a bid of £12 million for the striker from

    Southampton.

I've always rated Shane Long - think he's a decent striker. But Southampton are worrying me at the moment. I thought from last season that they were a good club, coming up from League 1, doing things right. I liked them a lot. But now they've sold all their good players (admittedly for top money) and are buying mid tablers.

I honestly think that of all the clubs to come up over the last few years, they had the best chance to really power on and do something; maybe even challenge the big boys. But they've thrown it away over one summer, and their fans must be absolutley furious. As I say, I rate Shane Long but he doesn't begin to replace what they've lost.

Not as furious as Liverpool fans should be ! Gone from title contenders to being Southampton , in one summer !!!
