Belgian club Beerschot bid for Dundee Utd striker, Lawrence Shankland. I'm surprised no championship team have come in for this guy. 40 goals in 74 appearances for Dundee United.
24 in 26 in the Scottish Championship 8 in 32 in the Scottish Premiership That's why nobody decent is in for him - he might be the Ronaldo of the alehouse league but if he can't do it in the SPL he's not going to do it in the Championship.
I don't think 8 in 32 in the SPL is a poor return to be honest. Admittedly, it's not excellent, but for a first proper season a that level, it's a good start. I see he's linked with Ipswich Town too. If he signs for them, and scores 20 goals in league 1 this season, would you take a punt on him then? I'm not sure myself whether he'd make the step up, but like the OP says, I'm surprised someone in the Championship hasn't taken a punt.
Thought we should have signed him before Dundee United did. His stats and age must have put him on our radar and he was a small risk gamble because he wouldn't have cost much if he had failed, but had he made it with us he would have been a bargain.
Doesn't seem that long ago that a move from the Scottish top division to the English 2nd tier was seen as a step down....
Sky’s huge financial investment into the English game is the reason. The gulf now is huge. But it is what it is.
It's actually an upcoming channel 5 documentary about a toilet making factory. Has-been celebrities tour the factory and then test drive the pot.
And Tamer Hassan! Him and Danny Dyer come as a package. Even on Eastenders, he might not be on screen, but he's the cellar man of the queen Vic.
