Again SYP wants disbanding Was told a story about a copper who had been moved into a role dealing with sexual exploitation the other day and how they were reluctant to hold others to account as they were on the slope to retirement and didn't want to make waves....
All stems from the top - it's more important not to rock the boat, to tick boxes, have a meeting to do a bit of mutual back slapping. Meanwhile the system goes to ****. Council, cops, NHS, the lot.
Correct. A lot of it is usually well meaning but at the root of it is the uncertainty caused by the potential of political upheaval every five years...

Not commenting on Rotherham here, but it's Councillors and Council Officers that will get the first reports from the social teams, if anyone wanted to suppress an issue, it woiuld be easy not to pass it on.

Sounds familiar. Has Leon Britten? http://www.theguardian.com/commenti...resa-may-child-sex-abuse-inquiry-light-of-day There are so many politicians who are squirming, avoiding questions, stalling and covering up.
I have to say, that having confronted and brassed out the face to face wrath of the people of Rotherham, and having resisted the calls of all party leaders, plus the weight of the media frenzy, it would be interesting to know what motivated this sudden change of heart. Has he been 'got to' in some way? If he has - on what level and what with? Positive inducements? Threats? Revelations? A man who was so stubborn that he looked victims and victim's families in the eyes and denied any culpability - said he was proud of what he had achieved in his current role - refused to step down and underlined the fact that he couldn't be sacked or forced out... Now he suddenly has an attack of conscience and begins to feel he ought to go. Quite a change. Quite a turnaround.
