Sheer bloody-mindedness

    That headline's a bit misleading as well. I don't think the Sat-nav really 'took' him into the river, did it. The Sat-nav told him to drive into a river and he did, of his own volition. I think it should read 'Cabbie takes cab into river, on the advice of a computer'. As my mum always used to say "If Sat-nav jumped off a cliff would you?"

    And I doubt the sat nav even directed him into a river, he probably took the track before the road he was supposed to be on.

    I dont get why people have such blind faith in them even if they work perfectly you can still put duff info into them - see the one about the taxi that took 2 ladies to watch Chelsea and turned up in the Stamford Bridge just outside York.

    I think I've been in the same place. It's actually a ford down a track. I once had a hire car and drove into the ford, only to realise partway across that it was probably too deep. I panicked like **** hopeing the car wouldn't stall as I desperately tried to reverse out. :D :D :D
