Just had a read through a Sheff U forum...and to be fair they have a similar division of rose tinted/doom-mongers and fantasists as we do
...you know who you are!! but a good amount of fair minded stuff is posted on there too.

Lots of praise for our back 4..with Scowen singled out...George Williams picked by several as a weak link ?..having said that a couple of their players who I thought played well got a slating.

One astute observation that was interesting noticed how young our squad looked..and went on to mention how some of the Sheff U players looked knackered well before the end.

one said.....' What we're seeing is what usually happens at this stage of the season. The 'serious' contenders (Bradford, Millwall, Burton) who have inevitably had the odd 'blip' - are finding their stride. The 'non-serious' teams like United, S****orpe, Gillingham, Barnsley etc. have simply continued the pattern they've shown throughout the season' - patchy, inconsistent and not good enough.
....patchy and inconsistent does not describe BFC...the top of the league form run from December suggests we are good enough

One howler though was one suggesting we were the worst team in the play offs..despite us having taken 4 pts off Burton...4 off Bradford
3 off Walsall and Gills and 6 off Millwall.

I don't think Williams was a weak link. However, they did target him with the long ball time and time again and he got out jumped with increasing frequency as the game wore on.

I wouldn't say we're inconsistent. We were consistently bad in the first half of the season and consistently good in the second half of the season. We grind out clean sheets with fantastic consistently but unfortunately fail to score a hatful of goals every game.

S24su...plenty of thinking analytical comments on there..going back to our youthful squad , apparently we averaged 23 yrs they 27. One pointed out that Sharp and Adams looked knackered after a long season...42 and 38 games respectively...God knows what Hourihane and Winnall feel like on 48 and 52

Pete Balde is their equivalent of Brian - he reckons all the teams in the play offs could beat us

I read it a few minutes ago. There seem to be some fairly sensible opinions on there along with the odd idiot.
I made the mistake of having a look at Bladesmad yesterday. Jeez, it was like walking into a classroom full of thirteen year olds. Dingle this, six fingered that. Mind you it's not much different to Tykesmad in that respect. If this board ever got like that it would be an absolute crying shame.

I don't get the 6 finger criticism. ...I find 6 fingers very useful...better than 5 surely , the only drawback it's not so easy to get gloves that fit.

A lot of people on that thread claiming we were the poorest team in top 6 and that any one of those teams would beat us. I'm guessing they haven't checked the form table since November. My biggest worry now is goals. Winnall and Hammill look to be running on empty, marley's out, Toney doesn't seem to be offering much and Conor seems to have lost the ability to shoot. We seem to be relying more and more on clean sheets. someone has to put the ball in at the other end

It would be useful if we could wrap the 6th spot up next Saturday and give a few of the lads ten days or so off to recharge before the playoffs start.

Don't get this poorest team in top six claim by them tbh.
Most teams they've played in top six according to callers on dee dar they have battered and should have won ,but yet we stop them playing give em a game and they say we're the weakest side
So to sum it up the best sides are the ones they should have won easily ? #confused.org

They are a bitter lot. It was a even game if hammill,Winnall hourhine hadn't had a day off would have been diffrent. And I didn't see anything wrong with fletchers goal. A few of the blades on social media still genuinely think they have a top 6 chance..... love em me!!

It's called bitterness. We've played the other three playoff sides 7 times this season, won five, lost one and drawn one. We are top of the league on form since the year began. We've also won a cup competition at Wembley. And done so having lost our manager.

We've spent £5,000 on agents fees. United? About £150,000.

They spent a small fortune recruiting Sharp, Sammon, Woolford, Hammond et al. We spent what? A nominal fee on Mawson? We get crowds 50% smaller than they do. They have a Saudi Prince in charge of their club along with McCabe who's a lot richer than Mr Cryne. They have made a fortune over the years through selling players, cup runs and of course the Tevez affair. I'm guessing they were financially compensated for Ched being locked up.

So in essence, it can only be bitterness. Because how can a club that they suggest is so much bigger than ours, with all that extra wealth, all those extra fans, how can they finish below us again? How come in the last couple of decades, we've matched or bettered their achievements? Premier League season, FA Cup Semi, Playoff Finals, same amount of years in L1. How do we manage it? Or, how do they manage it? Either we're not as **** as they reckon we are, or they are just absolutely *****. Oh, and we've won a trophy at Wembley in those couple of decades. There isn't a blunt alive who can remember 1925.

They're in Wednesday's shadow. Always have been. Always will be. Now as much as ever. Which must sting. And then here we are, outdoing them. Rotherham a division above. Them, an established THIRD DIVISION club. But aye, they're huge, we can't compete, etc etc etc.

Until they wake up and smell reality, I expect they'll continue to sleepwalk to oblivion.

If we get promotion, I wouldn't mind taking Adams off them. Like we did Fjortoft that time. To help them financially.

Sick of liking thi posts today. I said at the game it would be the usual "two bad sides" "worst team at Bramall Lane this season" etc etc from them. Bitter Blades.
