Cheers MT. I saw this on Calendar. In 1944, aged 8 years old, Tony Foulds was playing
with his mates in Endcliffe Park Sheffield when a damaged American B-17 bomber flew
overhead. The crew started waving at Tony and his mates. They realised some years later
they were being urged to get out of the way and shortly after, the plane crashed killing all ten crew members. As a tribute, a memorial to honour the dead was built and Tony has diligently attended to it for the past 75 years. The fly past is being held to honour the crew of the B-17 which will fulfil Tony's lifetime ambition. What a great feller Tony is. Great to see his dedication is finally being recognised.

Just been on the lunchtime News that the flypast will involve aircraft
from the US Air Force base at RAF Lakenheath. Nice touch in that
the deceased pilots named will appear on the side of the planes involved.
