cant stand it buying there way to promotion just like modern football fk em. Doing it the easy way,cheating in my eyes. Ive seen more wendy shirts hats scarfs around barnsley of lately it makes me feel sick.
Personally I think they'll fall short but if they do get promoted my disappointment will be tempered by knowing that another part of Sheffield is in complete and total meltdown.
I dislike Wednesday as much as most, probably due to their big headed fans and their delusions of grandyeur. But you have to respect what theyve achieved this season. Yes, people will point to a rich owner whos spent a bit, but next season in the premiership the team finishing bottom will get 91million pounds for the privelage followed by 60 million in parachute payments. Thats over 150 million knicker. A outlay of 10 million to achieve this is a good gamble...providing it pays off i suppose. Many point to Man City for 'buying' titles etc and to a point i agree with them but it wont have escaped the attention of their current owners when looking at a team to take over they saw a club with a huge fanbase that were getting upwards of 25k fans in league 1 when they were down there. Wednesday were an attractive option, especially after the co-op sold their debt cheaply. I hope wednesday fail but I wouldnt mind us being in a similar situation if im being honest, because if u can get into the cash cow that is the premiership, your laughing all the way to the bank.
No time for the club,. They got away with not getting closed down and the piggery being converted to flats, despite debts of astronomical proportions.
