I don't buy in the ground anyway. It's overpriced and better to eat before setting off or get something cheaper and better from a local surrounding business.

I won't be walking in 8 minutes late. Everyone will be having a nosey to see just how many turn up 8 mins in.

I hope this initiative fails spectacularly, not because of any issues with the fans wanting to protest, but because the entire concept of this one is so spectacularly inaccurate that the only thing it highlights is how badly informed those who came up with it are about the background of the last few years.

"8 years of Neerav?" Literally no-one mentioned his name when it was the Conway/Lee ****-show for most of that period and he was one of those who were instrumental in removing them from the Board. Subsequent to this he's diluted their shareholding by being the most active person who's providing equity investment into the club to keep it running, to the extent that he's now the majority shareholder, the most recent of these injections of funds being about 3 weeks ago.

By all means point the finger at him, JAQ and the Cryne family for any errors made in the time they've been in executive control of the club, of which there have no doubt been many, but at least acknowledge that there's been two play-off campaigns within that time, and that this season is the first one where there looks to have been a serious regression from that. They inherited the club after the worst season in living memory, when it was heading for administration thanks to Conway and Lee's mis-management.

Also, at least have a basic idea of what you want to achieve from your protest. I have no clue in that regard based on this poster, but presumably its to "replace the owners". In which case, I'd be intrigued to know who's going to replace them, and how that is going to improve the situation, particularly with regard to ongoing funding.

There are all sorts of legitimate concerns that can be aimed at the running of the club, and undoubted errors that have been made over the last 3 seasons. However, organising protest campaigns based on obviously inaccurate foundations isn't going to achieve anything constructive.

In fairness, at least they're being wildly ambitious in hoping for 82 minutes of noise, which I think anyone can get behind if it's positively aimed at the players on the pitch (which seems to be the intention, to be fair). Good luck to them with that, albeit I think it's doomed to failure in the current Oakwell library environment where apathy is king. The problem is that sustaining anything like that is dependent upon the team putting in a good performance. If we produce a sub-par one, which is a very real possibility, then it will end up deteriorating into the toxic "sack the board" / JAQ song atmosphere or, more likely, a gradual exodus from the stands.

    Top, top post.
I really hope that those who were contemplating joining in with this "protest" read Sherrif's thoughts above and change their minds.

I don’t know why Neerav bothers tbh. Pours millions into the club, holds fans forums, attends games and most importantly of all marginalised Lee/Conway. And now there’s talk about a protest against him. We signed a player yesterday, it’s the biggest game of the season yet, why can’t everyone get behind the team for 90 mins.

Or JAQ. Said it many a times, if I were them, no connections to club, I'd have ****** it off last season months & months ago after the abuse they get, especially JAQ. Nobody gives them credit for getting it almost perfect in their first season under Duff, good signings, good appointments. Second season wasn't as good but still achieved play offs, and ultimately it got decided, yet again, by a wrong decision, this time an offside call in the semis. There's no excuses for this year imo, I think they\ve disappointed, though I bet they feel the same way, but the lengths some people are going is ridiculous.

I'm pretty damn negative (you're all shocked aren't you) but even I wouldn't dream of protesting against people who are just not very good at their job but are wasting millions keeping the club afloat.

Rather than protesting why not offer realistic suggestions on how to turn our finances around? Devote the same level of effort into trying to come up with things to improve the club because simply throwing your teddies out and demanding that our owners **** off is ludicrous.

And for what it's worth I think the club should be getting together with the Feb group, supporters trust and various other fans groups and coming up with a way for the club to increase money. We can't improve the team or make us make money in that way but TOGETHER we can come up with some ideas to increase revenue. My personal thought is that the fans could raise money to invest in a large scoreboard which the club could then utilise to increase match day revenue from ads and fans putting messages on as well as improving the match day experience which results in more bums on seats and again more revenue. Another would be for fans to launch a fundraising campaign to pay for the filling in of another corner of the stadium or something.

They might be unrealistic, you might all have different ideas, but my point is that we do all have ideas and we should be trying to improve our revenue streams to enable the club to be more competitive. We shouldn't be trying to force out the owners simply for not having enough knowledge.

This might be the most well reasoned post ever. I wouldn’t have been able to manage it without being disparaging about the protest.
