BARNSLEY chairman Gordon Shepherd gave his reaction to today's cup draw, which paired the Reds or Southend United with either Cardiff City or Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking this afternoon, Gordon said: "Of course we are semi-pleased with that. Every club of our size would love a home draw against a huge club or similarly an away tie at one of the big four for the financial aspects of a game like that. Playing Tottenham or Cardiff City should still be a reasonable pay day for us and it would also be an enjoyable day out for our supporters.

"However, we still have to get past Southend United and I am sure that they will want to face Tottenham or Cardiff just as much as us.

"I think we would prefer Tottenham really because they are the Premiership club and it would be a huge challenge for our team. It would be a game to look forward to and a great day out for our fans".
