Listening to Gordon Shepherd on radio sheff today he seemed very pleased with himself on the appointment of Simon Davey as our new manager.
He spoke of how he thought Davey would have more authority. coaching ability, better prepared teams and better knowledge on our opponents. Well we will have to wait and see on that front.

He also said (and most of us know by now) that the club offered £200,000 for Williamson from Rotherham, which was turned down.
What i would like to know is, Sheps bid or Davey's intrest. How much authority does Davey have in the january transfer window. We were after Williamson a few months ago when Davey was kicking a rubber ball around with the kids.
Shep and the Board will decide who comes in and who goes out, and like many as said, Sheps running the club ,signing the players, and probably picking the flipping team.

We are now in the bottom three, Davey i cannot blame, i'll give him my full support.
But if Shep comes onto the radio after the January sales and says that we tried our very best to sign some quality players, and we just couldn't match their asking price, and we end up signing lower league players for a few bob. Then the inexperience that he has shown in running a Championship club , not the finacial side of it, but the football side will come back to haunt him when we get relegated.
I honestly want Davey to do well, whether it's the right appointment or not, but if he isn't given the money to build this team with QUALITY then i think we are doomed and Shep will be history. (doh)

    Has it been rejected?

    Didn't know that...

Agree about Shep's smugness, I think he feels like he's doing a good job for some reason.
