It's nonsense. He makes it sound as though Simon puts a list of players in his pigeon hole and he goes out and gets them.

Also, he can't expect us to believe that he didn't have a strategic discussion with Simon in order to determine his plans for the future (who he was going to release and why).

Simon's view is relatively short term (he has to win games or he will be out). Gordon's must think longer term and he needs to make sure Simon is not throwing the baby out with the bath water so to speak. To say that they do not discuss these things together is a load of rot.

Wasn't it a breakdown in communication that cost Andy Ritchie his job?
