Well well well. After the day we've had with bringing in 4 players, and Wright going out on loan too, I am very disappointed to say the least with the news of McIndoe's departure. A cracking player - some fantastic performances for us, coupled with his form for Donny, has definately mad ehim an attractive proposition. We took a gamble on him by the way the Donny fans were talking about him. And although he has now gone, that gamble could have paid off - depending on the fee actually agreed for him.....
BUT dont get me wrong, he's been great for us, and it could work out good business. Surely having signed a left winger today on loan, who didnt expect McIndoe to be leaving? Come on. I didnt want it to be true either, but we were only denying the obvious to ourselves. What gets me wondering though is what happens long-term? McIndoe is definately leaving. But will West Ham be happy for Reid to join us permanantly? Thats if we want him anyway. If either a) we dont want him, or b) West Ham wont let him join permanantly, what are we going to do? Obvious answer is to bring in another left winger, but will we find a player capable of playing at this level the way that McIndoe can? Wolves may have been interested in McIndoe whilst he was at Donny, I dont know, other CHampionship clubs could have been interested. But we took the gamble and have now obviously made a profit on him. It remains to be seen how much though.
Having considered all this, I refuse to blame the board. Yes, they knew more than us, but then again dont they always - at every club. To me it all depends on what we do with the money we receive. Whether we can bring in maybe a couple of players with the money I have no idea, players capable of playing (well) at this level.
Im still looking forward to Saturday very much, even though he has gone. We have 4 new players here and only one major departure. To me we are going in the right direction. I fully support the board, because at the end of the day they are Barnsley fans and whatever people say, I reckon they want what is best for this club, and for that a will back them. If they think that selling McIndoe is good business, then so be it.
I probably have lots more to say but my fingers are shot now.

Well said, we dont want players who really dont want to be here lets get some money in and a good manager, and sod him if he wants to go.
Well said We gambled on McIndoe and probably have won to the tune of several hundred thousand pounds - all aerned in a matter of 12 weeks.
Now if you football / financial wizards out there can make that sort of money in that sort of time then I'ld be amazed.
McIndoe is alledgedly big headed and trouble in the dressing room. Perhaps its for the best.
We have signed McCann (probably permanently) who can score goals and play on the left. We have brought in a up and coming winger from a premier club too so maybe theres plenty of cover there.
I am very disappointed with McIndoes departure but lets not get too hung up on it. Maybe it will help to facilitate the permanent moves in January.

Thanks you three.... I half expected a lot on here slagging off my views, but so far so good. I just think that some people are going waaay over the top on this. It really could be good business in the long run.
well said, dont forget we still have devaney, and he can play on both wings, score the odd goal, so we now may have a stronger and defensive type midfield, lets also hope that tommorow we see Nads and Knight up front..................
Yes mate, Hayes also playes better on the left wing too, so we still have competition for places - more so now in fact. 4 players in, 2 out. Deffo stronger.
A bit harsh on McIndoe He didn't ask for the move. Wolves expressed an interest, and were willing to splash the cash. We could have said No, and that would have been it. He gave 100% whenever I saw him play. Good luck to the lad.
nad and kinght together?? NOOOOOOO they are two of the same type of players...wont work together imho although i can see shepherd playing them (lets face it he's signed the players so he's picking the team) to keep the fans happy
RE: A bit harsh on McIndoe i think there may have been a clause. anyway, will prob wipe out our debts, plus reid is class, he was against west brom last year for west ham, he is very very quick. i think we will have him on laon all year and if he is quality it is good business
also, is surely better that he's gone to Wolves, than.... ...to Leeds, as earlier rumours had indicated.
Very, very good post mate. Personally I don't agree - when you're deep in a relegation battle I don't think it makes sense to sell any player who can turn games and earn points, particularly the best one at the club (imo), and I casn't help thinking that the club is 'spinning' news stories big time at the moment - which makes me feel like they take us for fools, but you put the counter argument really well. I hope you're right.
Cheers mate I dont mind you disagreeing at all - your entitled to your opinion 100%.
I just hope im right too

My View Must be a reason for it IMO.
Either:
A) They've already agreed the fee and its big (I want at least a £million)
or
B) McIndoe has too big a head on his shoulders and he's rocking the boat- hence we get rid for the cash, see above.
My worry is that he'll either get injured, or do nothing at Wolves and come back in Jan with his head down. Either way he'd be no good to us which makes the loan a strange decision. We should have waited till Jan and just sell him. Which suggests to be that its B)
