REDS boss Simon Davey has responded to newspaper speculation linking the Reds with a move for former Oakwell hitman Neil Shipperley. Shipperley was released by Sheffield United earlier this week after 18 months and 39 appearances at Bramall Lane. Today's Daily Star reads: 'Barnsley want former Sheffield United striker Neil Shipperley'. Simon told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "There is no truth in that and Neil is not a player we have enquired about. We are still looking and are hopeful on a number off offers we have in for new faces". Shipperley joined the Reds in 1999 and went on to make 88 first team appearances in two and a half years, bagging 31 goals. No there's a surprise (N) (N) (N)
