firstly let me say I don't think he should come back
BUT
Ritchie says
"He is too similar to Marc Richards".
Well he just isn't-If Shipperley or someone in the same mould had been playing on Saturday it would have made sense to play as we did in the first half-ie knocking high balls into the area-players like Shipperley can and do win balls in the air-hopefully knocking it down for others
neither Richards and Hayes is a good winner/header of the ball-they both thrive on balls played to their feet-once we realised this (at half time?) we overran Stoke and could have won
didn't anyone scout Stoke beforehand? my report would have said-2 giants up front and 2 giant centre halfs therefore-play it on the floor
suppose this is why I'm not a manager!!

well said but the difference between your posting and the comprehension of certain people at B.F.C. is that you are functioning from the logic/commonsense theory as apposed to non-sensicle/illogical concepts of game planners at the club.
Was saying exactly the same after the game with regard to the opponent analysis. Its backed up with how we never seem to get going until twenty mins into a game.
pmsl. Tell Andy Ritchie to drop me a pm before the next game And i'll tell him the height of the opposition's players free of charge, it'll save the club having to pay the quite clearly astronomical fee of checking it out for themselves.
FFS, the majority of fans in Oakwell on saturday knew that stoke were a big side, the only people that apparently didnt were the ones in the dugout and on the pitch.

RE: Stoke giants Knowing Stoke had five seven footers and doing something about it is a different proposition. The first point to make is they are not a footballing side. The delivery from their wide players for the goals was spot on but the second ball was predictable and could have been prevented.Don't forget we had a full back at centre half and a midfielder at full back. Shipperley? Why bother-too old-not mobile enough-high wages. A R's got something going that you can't get in the transfer market.Teamwork playing for each other and the manager.
RE: wages? No I meant that I think Shipperley is probably on too much for us to be able to afford him!
RE: pmsl. Tell Andy Ritchie to drop me a pm before the next game I think he means Shipperley won't come for a bag of peanuts
this teamwork thing I'm not seeing it. I'm seeing motivation yes but not teamwork.
They arent playing as a team, if they were then Mcindoe wouldnt have been stood in acres of space waving his arms around like a nutter for the first 45 minutes whilst everybody else ignored him. The strikers wouldn't be stood so far apart that they needed mobiles to talk to each other, the wingers would be tracking back to help the fullbacks and the defence wouldnt be all over the shop with nobody knowing who was meant to be marking who.

Sorry I thought that was was you meant - just couldnt resist
Still a bit concerned that we seem to have been taken a bit by surprise at Stokes size and tactics though
