Isn't it time this stupid rule was scrapped? Devaney got booked on saturday for (understandably) getting a wee bit excited at scoring the winner at Southampton, yet John Terry took his shirt off and threw it into the crowd at Hull at the end of the worthless cup match and didn't get one. Crazy or what?

Isn't it time players actually had the sense to know it's a bookable offence and not do it?!

Jeffers whipped his shirt off and ran to the croud when he scored against Hull - he didn't get booked either!
But then - the Wendies are a big club aren't they?

All reports coming from Hillsborough say that Jeffers did receive a yellow card but none of the stats pages (Sky Sports, Soccerbase etc)have it logged.

I agree that the rule is little pathetic but as has already been noted, it is a rule and players do know about it

I was at the game. He did get booked!

It is a stupid rule though & should never have been introduced!

I thought it had been changed and the 'rule' now related to excessive celebrations

Susie, I was about to ask that very question, is the booking for taking the shirt off or for excessive celebration.

I stand corrected - I guess I was lucky enough NOT to be at the game! lol

I just looked at the stats and it showed no booking.

Like has been said - the rule is a stupid one anyway.

    I think

Players should be awarded an "entertainment bonus" for taking their shirt off!!! :D
