If i had a choice between FA Cup and survival i'd take the FA Cup anyday. this is the best chance in our lifetime of barnsley lifting the trophy and playing European Football wheras championship football will come back around.

I still live in hope we can survive but with 3 away games we'l be lucky to realisticaly pick up 1 point. We'l beat Hull, bottle it again against Leicester like last season and maybe steal a point off Charlton.

    I agree

Obviously don't want to go down but if the worst happens and we do drop we will be back in a few years or so.

When will we have another chance to get to the FA cup final?

    But it isn't a choice

Playing like we are, it is probable we will not lift the cup and possible we may be relegated.
This once promising season could yet end in total, unmitigated disaster. No choice involved.

    RE: I agree

Me too. I'll follow em whatever division - or even league! - they're in. Seen as much lower division as second tier since I started watching em.

But a Cup Final? Now that's something I've only ever dreamed about. It's something my dad only dreamed about!

'but if the worst happens and we do drop we will be back in a few years or so'.

How wrong. League 1 is a pub league and there are no easy ways back. Barnsley spent knocking on 30 years in the bottom 2 tiers until promotion in 1981 to the old Div 2 . Sod the bleeding FA Cup (and it's once in a lifetime 'fans'), Championship football far more important and everlasting.

Count me in on that. We have got a trip to Wembley. Survival is paramount. Not easy to get out of L1.

I think going down would mean losing most of our best players, however as long as the club could financially survive I've nothing against League One; the refs are even worse, but the games are still the same fun, perhaps even more if we win more often!

You may or may not agree

But we have over the years spent most of our time in the Championship (2nd division in old money) and I believe that is about our level. Why is it difficult to get out of the pub league? - there are 3 places available and we will be one ot the better teams in it (yes I know we were lucky last time :D )

Most of us have never even dreamt of getting to the FA cup final let alone winning it. It is less than a once in a lifetime event for a club of our size. Staying up was more important than beating Liverpool and also more important than beating Chelsea, but a Cup Final possibility?????????

Still you are entitled to your opinion and obviously we both agree on one thing - it would be a disaster if we go down.
