Short, for me... You could read Jay's though instead. His hit several nails ont head. Saw the same game for sure. No lack of effort. Other team were all over our midfield like flies round ****, they possibly did look like they wanted it more. But it wasn't a lack of graft on our part. Huge lack of quality in the main though. And when it was quality, they clear it off the line. Well done Chesterfield. Deserved the win. Joe Dudgeon was the best player ont pitch. I'd like to say Ramage and Nyatanga were, and they were for the most part, but that second - and killer - goal was a joke to concede. Midfielders were all off colour. Bailey looked superb in spells of the first half. Oozes quality. But second half he disappeared, and only ever ****** up whenever he got on the ball. Hourihane was awful. Worst I've seen him play for us. No idea why we didn't play him in the role Hemmings took up. We missed Williams massively. Hemmings is better than today showed. But as a forward. And today was the Luke Berry I saw on opening day. Little lad lost. Maybe we should credit the opposition? They clearly did their homework on us. We lost. We'll lose a fair few more this season. But we were very, very below par today. Yet still could have got a point or three on another day. I'm satisfied with their efforts this afternoon, even if others aren't. Good run of home games now. Let's try and stick in the top half, see what we can do post-January. You Reds.
Only Dudgeon was getting stuck in today. And we had nothing whatsoever down the right hand side, all afternoon. Another point - we saw their right back, and right sided midfielder booked within minutes of each other. But did we give Cole the instruction to run at them both and hopefully get em sent off? No. We hardly ventured down there again. Even if at half tilt, we'd have murdered them today. But we weren't, and CFC deserved the points.
Agree with that credit to them closed us down well dint let us play bit of a off day today hope we back to winning ways next satdi
Agree mostly. The defense though have to take the blame for allowing two punts downfield to go straight to an unchallenged Doyle. Top scorer in the entire football league and we gave him the freedom of the ground for his two goals. Midfield were non-existent. Hourihane had his poorest game for us, Bailey was anonymous, Berry ran around a lot but offered very little. Winnall barely got a touch, Hemmings tried but had little to work with, ditto Cole. Latter two did miss a great chance apiece though. Overall not too disappointed as we weren't much worse than against Colchester, and would have won on another day if we'd taken our chances. Credit Chesterfield though, defended well and snuffed out our dangermen.
