Short term everyone seems to be siding with a viewpoint that we need an up n at em short termed like megson to fire them up to avoid going down.

But what happens in the summer or this short term plan fails?

If in the summer we stop up under that kind of stewardship would he be a manger who could unnite the club and the fans going forward and be able to replace the dross currently on the books who are out of contract come June.

If the short term option fails then the club is relegated, has very few contracted players and without a manager who failed in his short term remit.

Although the short term goal is to avoid relegation whoever the board appoint needs to appoint someone with a long term vision to either progress after avoiding the drop or be able to build a team to push for the upper reaches of league one in an attempt to gain promotion at the first or second attempt.

The ultimate question is are those who make that call capable of selecting a manager to cover both bases.

If the club get this call wrong and the club end up being relegated then barnsley fc will stagnate and become Bradford MKII.

You mean we need to employ someone like Mark Robins, who kept us up, did it again, then was told his vision to progress is not what the club can afford?

    Along those lines.

Next trick is to get someone who has the skill to attract future business support and have the ability to increase revenue without having to trim the running costs to work with the bean counter and the invisible man.
