Other than a bad miss in the away leg (following a lucky break), the ref giving them a dubious pen, our switching off for 1 corner and our excuse for a goalie, they never threatened. <font color="#ff0000">Town on the other hand were dominant away and comfortable for much of last night. Missed chances and a string of great saves by their keeper kept them in it.</font> Dont anyone tell me TF is a striker. Tap ins from 2 feet are all well and good, but where was he when it counted in the first and last minutes of the tie? Glaring chances a proper striker would have scored with ease. As for Rachubka, words fail me. No wonder he never looks like getting near a penalty - he must be knackered with all the theatrics. New keeper, a decent midfield and a solution to the Abbott problem (we wont see Graham again) are an absolute must for next season - otherwise we'll struggle. We've had a string of injury time goals and opponents being sent off, that have pushed us higher up the table than we should be. <font color="#ff0000">All that said, we still should have beaten a poor Barnsley team over the 2 legs and beaten them comfortably.</font></td></tr></tbody></table></p>
"Barnsley never looked like scoring" nothing about how the only way they scored was by being gifted 2 goals! How come, if we never looked like scoring, we were all over them in the 2nd half and scored 3?
Town fan at work said "No complaints" He said that they weren't in it in the 2nd half and we dominated....said that they just resorted to bypassing midfield and hitting Booth (didn't like to say that's what I thought they did over both games) and we were just picking it off when that broke down and hitting them with pace. Another Town fan I just keep hearing from time to time saying "It wasn't a penalty, it was outside the box" whenever any neutral talks to him....I've had a few neutrals say to me they thought it was just inside and a clear penalty.
RE: it was definitely in the box-why? because............ Sat right behind the incident - McIntosh put both hands on hayes and shoved him. On TV it looks to be bang on the line to be fair.</p> Still, tough titty.</p>
If he carries on I'm just getting a newspaper and highlighting where it says Hayes (pen) I'm just leaving it to neutrals to tell him it was a penalty
