    I'm currently paying -

    Line rental----------£10.50
    Talk unlimited-------£15.00
    Broadband internet---£25.00

    Total----------------£50.50 to Telewest.

    Could be paying -

    Line Rental----------£10.50 (BT)
    Calls and broadband--£20.00 (Tiscali)

    Total----------------£30.50

Apart from Telewest's download speeds, which I'm not that bothered about, am I missing anything?

    What are the benefits D?

I don't sit waiting for downloads. Is it that much faster for normal use?

    I would use Tiscali..

but cant because of the min 12 month contract I have with Wanadoo. They are charging me 17.99 for a 1meg conection with a 2Gb limit (which I regularly go over). Tiscali offer 2meg and no limit for the same price. Apprantly Wanadoo say you can upgrade to a 2meg for a one off £20 fee but they can sod off. Other companies have upgraded lines for free.

deffo - it depends what you use net for. If you watch much video or high res content you will def notice the difference. If your just on sites like this it will be handy for the pictures of the beaaches -if your a fan!
    (wicked)

Who knows what else will start poppin up on the net once we hit super duper fast links. Youl prob be able to get broadcast quality TV down the fecker soon.

If I had a choice between Tiscali and Wanadoo

I'd stick with Wanadoo. I had Tiscali a while ago and wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. In fairness to them it was a few years and things may have improved since then, but their support sucked at the time I had it.

I couldn't tell you about the support

They just sent me the modem, told me the line was working and everything has been fine and dandyo since. Never needed any technical support. And it keeps getting cheaper and faster. I started off paying £17.99 for 256k, then it went to £15.99 for 512k and now it's £14.99 for 1mb. Result as far as I'm concerned.

I'm still with them purely because its a pain to move

Tiscali dont allow migrations so you have to cancel and restart.
Relibility was poor but It has been better over the last few months
Tech support was awful - not used it for ages though so may have improved.

I've heard good things about plusnet - though Tiscali's deal with the fone is good value
