I really want to take him there for his 1st game and have said I would (not that he understands) but I'm a bit worried he'll not like it and be difficult to control in the ground. Add to that the outrageous costs and I'm still unsure what to do.

Not sure he'll enjoy it, remember it and my mate says its not reight as thas got to do places like darlington on a tuesday night to earn the right to such an outing.

Think I may take him to Oakwell on setdi intstead!

    Course you should...

It might be 96 years before he gets another chance!

So take them to another game first

And if they are ok with it then by all means take them.
Even if they dont remember it, they will grow up knowing - they were there.
I have no idea what my first match was, but I might have if it had been wembley

Had an under 2 sat (fast asleep), behind me at Anfield. Initial impressions was 'waste of a seat' - Someone who wanted to watch the match could have been sitting there.

But if you pay your £'s, the seats yours to do whatever you want with.

Which reminds me. A few weeks ago in the East Stand lower. There was a large (wide) women sat in front of me. She was taking up 1 1/2 seats. At a guess she must have bought the two seats cos there was no way anyone could have sat either side of her.

    I wouldn't

A 3 1/2 year oldmight be scared to death of the crowd and the noise inside the stadium, especially when we score or if anything kicks off, he could be difficult to hold onto or console.

He's also guaranteed to want a slash at every inconvenient moment and he'll want a toy to keep him quiet, which he will then lob into the crowd and you'll be outside by half time :D

taken my 3 1/2 yr to oakwell a few times. she loves it...

th laughed at ipswich game and said that near went up the tower (ipswich shot miss by miles, think she meant the flood light)

not taking her to wembley though, cos were taking my 5 yr son and showing him round london first, think it would be too much for her little legs.

Between half way & 18 yard box towards the away end. Duno gangway numbers.

i wouldn't take him, simply because of the long journey there and back, if your on the coach you can't just stop to let him out for a bit when he gets restless

Took my 4 year old daughter to

Anfield for her first game, and she loved it. She'd been asking to go to the football with dad for a good 6 months.

Since then she's been to the Chelsea game, and the Palace game, and she's going to Wembley

Not sure she'd have been so keen to go again if Palace had been her first game.

She has absolutely no idea of what is happening on the pitch, other than when goals get scored. I think she's only mildly interested in the football really, what she wants is a day out with her dad where she gets plenty shoulder rides, a trip to the pub, andsweets. Mind you she was happy to sit and watch the Cardiff - Middlesborough game with me on the TV the other week, so maybe ...

What she enjoys is the atmosphere and the singing and celebrating goals ... don't we all. I'd say if you want to go to a game then Wembely with all the atmosphere is absolutely the game to go to. Take a big bag of sweets for during the game, and buy a programme so they've got some pictures to look at.

Can't imagine I'll get to go to the football now without taking my daughter

No - I don't think he'll remember it at that age.

I think we can only rember back to when we were four, I read it somewhere.
