As the program that was once a National Instution goes out for the last time this Sunday (RIP)

What performance stands out first memory etc.

Just in case anyone else is interested I will start - if no one is this will disappear down the board and never be seen again.

1st Memory - Slade singing Goodbye to Jayne

biggest laugh - Dexys Midnight Runners performing under a huge photo of the darts player Jocky Wilson

Best decade '70's with Slade remember Noddy's hat with all the mirror disks and Dave Lee's Haircut? Pans People, Kate Bush when she first appeared singing Wuthering Heights. Debbie Harry singing Denis Denis whilst not wearing much - I could get all nostalgic

Never watch it now mind - though might make an effort this Sunday

A few things stand out for me:

John Peel miming on mandolin for The Faces (he gave them a start to their career so they hauled him on TOTP as revenge).

    Captain Sensible causing mayhem.

Tight Fit doing 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' - what utter horror.

Early '80's and the age of the NWOBHM (New wave of British heavy metal)....used to almost have a resident weekly slot when Iron Maiden or Def Leppard or Judas Priest etc were on.

Culture Club singing "Do you really want to hurt me?"

All us lads saying "Shes a bit of alreight!"

Then we read in the papers that "she" was "genderbender"
